dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación titulado “Evaluación fisioterapéutica de la Velocidad de la marcha y el equilibrio en el adulto mayor del centro geriátrico la casita del abuelo, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020”, se tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre la velocidad de la marcha y el equilibrio en el adulto mayor del centro geriátrico la casita del abuelo, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020, la investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo de nivel correlacional de diseño no experimental de corte transversal, la población y muestra fue de 24 adultos mayores, la técnica utilizada fue la observación, observación y la medición, mediante el instrumento del Test de La velocidad de la marcha (Gait speed) y Test Time up and go, se tuvo como resultados que el 66,7% tienen una velocidad lenta y el 33,3% tienen una velocidad normal. Por otro lado, el 54,2% tienen un leve riesgo de caída, mientras el 41,7% presenta un equilibrio normal y por último el 4,1% tienen un alto riesgo de caída. Por último, el 54,2% presentan una velocidad de marcha lenta y lo cual su equilibrio es leve a riesgo de caídas. Se concluyó con un valor de Pearson de 0,012 que está debajo del valor de P: 0,050, existe relación significativa entre la velocidad de la marcha y el equilibrio en el adulto mayor del centro geriátrico la casita del abuelo, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThis research project, entitled "Physiotherapeutic evaluation of walking speed and balance in older adults at the La Casita del Abuelo geriatric center, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020," aimed to determine the relationship between gait speed and balance in older adults at the La Casita del Abuelo geriatric center, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020. The research was quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional in design. The population and sample consisted of 24 older adults. and the technique used was observation and measurement, using the Gait Speed Test and the Time Up and Go Test. The results showed that 66.7% had a slow walking speed and 33.3% had a normal walking speed. On the other hand, 54.2% had a slight risk of falling, while 41.7% had normal balance and, finally, 4.1% had a high risk of falling. Finally, 54.2% had a slow walking speed and their balance was slightly at risk of falling. It was concluded with a Pearson value of 0.012, which is below the P value of 0.050, that there is a significant relationship between walking speed and balance in older adults at the La Casita del Abuelo geriatric center, San Martín de Porres - Lima, 2020.en
