dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar el desempeño del método inmunocromatográfico (ICG) y la prueba de la reagina plasmática rápida (RPR) en el diagnóstico de sífilis en gestantes atendidas en el Hospital de Apoyo Recuay, 2023; comparándolos con un estándar de referencia. Se empleó una metodología de enfoque cuantitativo con diseño descriptivo, comparativo y correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por gestantes que acudieron a control prenatal, seleccionándose una muestra de 184 participantes. A cada muestra se le aplicaron ambas pruebas y se registraron los resultados para calcular sensibilidad, especificidad, valores predictivos y concordancia diagnóstica mediante análisis estadístico. Los resultados mostraron que el ICG presentó una sensibilidad de 90,0% y especificidad de 98,7%, superando a la RPR (83,3% y 97,4%, respectivamente). El VPP y VPN del ICG fueron de 93,1% y 98,1%, mientras que la RPR obtuvo 86,2% y 96,8%. La concordancia entre ambas pruebas fue excelente (Kappa = 0,855) y la prueba de McNemar no evidenció diferencias significativas (p > 0,05). Se concluye que el método inmunocromatográfico ofrece un rendimiento superior al de la RPR, por lo que constituye una alternativa confiable y precisa para el tamizaje prenatal, contribuyendo a la detección temprana y prevención de sífilis congénita.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of the immunochromatographic (ICG) method and the rapid plasma reagin (RPR) test in diagnosing syphilis in pregnant women treated at the Recuay Support Hospital in 2023, comparing them with a reference standard. A quantitative approach with a descriptive, comparative, and correlational design was used. The population consisted of pregnant women who attended prenatal care, and a sample of 184 participants was selected. Both tests were administered to each sample, and the results were recorded to calculate sensitivity, specificity, predictive values, and diagnostic agreement through statistical analysis. The results showed that the ICG had a sensitivity of 90.0% and a specificity of 98.7%, surpassing the RPR (83.3% and 97.4%, respectively). The PPV and NPV of the ICG were 93.1% and 98.1%, while the RPR obtained 86.2% and 96.8%. The agreement between both tests was excellent (Kappa = 0.855), and the McNemar test showed no significant differences (p > 0.05). It is concluded that the immunochromatographic method offers superior performance to that of the RPR, making it a reliable and accurate alternative for prenatal screening, contributing to the early detection and prevention of congenital syphilis.en
