dc.description.abstractLa investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre la lactancia materna y el desarrollo psicomotor del niño menor de 6 meses, con metodología aplicada, cuantitativa, descriptiva, correlacional, prospectiva, de diseño no experimental, en una población censal de 60 niños, los resultados muestran que el 38,3% de los niños tuvieron lactancia materna inadecuada, 61,7% moderada; el 26,7% tuvieron trastorno en el desarrollo psicomotor, el 87,5% presentaron lactancia materna inadecuada y sólo 12,5% tuvieron lactancia materna moderada; el 25,0% tuvieron lactancia materna exclusiva inadecuada; del total de niños con trastorno en el desarrollo psicomotor el 93,8% tuvieron lactancia materna exclusiva inadecuada; el 81,7% presentaron lactancia mixta inadecuada, 6,7% moderada y 11,7% adecuada; además, que del total de niños con trastorno en el desarrollo psicomotor 31,3% tuvieron lactancia mixta inadecuada, el 25% lactancia mixta moderada; el 95,0% tuvieron lactancia artificial inadecuada, 3,3% moderada y 1,7% adecuada; asimismo, que del total de niños con trastorno psicomotor el 81.2% tuvieron lactancia artificial inadecuada, el 12,5% tuvieron lactancia artificial moderada, se concluye que, hay una asociación significativa del nivel de lactancia materna y el desarrollo psicomotor de los menores de 6 meses The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between breastfeeding and the psychomotor development of children under 6 months, with applied, quantitative, descriptive, correlational, prospective, non-experimental design methodology, in a census population of 60 children.
